Yashica M42 lenses
Yashica was a Japanese camera maker, founded in 1945 and absorbed into Kyocera in 1983. It notably manufactured 35mm SLR cameras under the Contax brand from 1974 onwards.
Yashica Yashinon 50mm F2
Like all Yashica lenses, a well-built all metal lens which reeks of quality.
Nice & sharp wide open with excellent colour reproduction and no chroma, even wide open.
Like all Yashica lenses, a definite keeper.

F2.8 1/1250th
F5.6 1/500th
F8 1/20th
Yashica Yashinon DS 50mm F1.7
Like all Yashica lenses, a well-built all metal lens which reeks of quality. Basically the same lens as the F2, but a bit faster @ F1.7
Nice & sharp wide open with excellent colour reproduction and no chroma, even wide open.
Like all Yashica lenses, a definite keeper.

Yashica Yashinon DS-M 50mm F1.7
Although I tried my best on the internet, I could not gather what the differences are between the DS, the DS-M and the DX in terms of construction and glass employed.
Be it as it may, ALL the 50mm F1.7 lenses are great performers.

Yashica Yashinon DS-M 50mm F1.4
Another gem of a lens - similar in build quality as the other 50mm ones, but consists of a huge chunk of glass and a very fast F1.4 aperture.
Nice and sharp wide open with beautiful bokeh.

Yashica Yashinon 135mm F2.8
A very well built all-metal lens which is built to last a lifetime. Aperture and focus movement is as smooth as butter.
But probably not the best 135mm lens around - the Pentacon and Carl Zeiss Jenas are better ones.

Yashica Yashinon 75-230mm F4.5
Talk about an all-metal lens built like a tank, and weighing about the same! Very well built with buttery smooth aperture, zoom and focus movement.
But, impossible to shoot out-of-hand with this weight and a tripod is the only way to go.
I have never been a fan of M42 zoom lenses, but I found this to be a very good lens. A bit soft wide open but really nice & sharp from F5.6 upwards.
