Industar M42 lenses

Industar (ИНДУСТАР) was one of the lens brands produced by lens makers of the former Soviet Union. The brand name was a classification for certain 4-element 3-group lens constructions

Industar 50mm F3.5 Pancake

What an interesting little lens! It is really tiny and looks funny on my Sigma SD10 with battery grip.

 

Build quality seems OK, but the aperture ring is somewhat loose with little resistance.

 

I was however really surprised with image quality - it is nice & contrasty with good colour reproduction and it is quite sharp wide open. No Chroma could be detected.
